Have you ever Googled your own name? How did you feel about the results?

I hadn't tried googling myself in several years so this QotD stimulated my curiosity. The results were very interesting.
When I googled "Ginger Campbell" I found many pages of results and at least for the first few pages most of the links were mine though of course there are quite a few "Ginger Campbells" around the country. Interestingly, the top listing was my reviewer profile on Amazon.com! My VOX blog was #4, while the first hit on my homepage (the About page) was #9. Of the first ten hits, 8 belong to me, which isn't too bad. In the first ten pages I continue to appear, although there are at least 2 other Ginger Campbells that appear fairly often.
On the other hand, when I search under my professional name, Virginia Campbell, MD there is only one page of hits and most of these are not me. I guess this makes sense since I currently do not have a professional (medical) website, but I do own the domain name virginiacampbellmd.com and I have recently assigned it to some space on a webserver that I intend to use for my upcoming podcasts, so it will be interesting to see if that matters.
What I learned from this exercise is that I am probably right in my plans to use Dr. Ginger Campbell as my podcasting moniker.
Meanwhile, yesterday I had some time with my MacBook™ and no internet access so I worked on my homepage in iWeb™. If you haven't been there I hope you will visit it. The only problem with iWeb™ is the pages tend to load slowly. Even so I have lots of great pictures there especially of beloved pets from the last 20 years.
In addition, although I usually do my blogging here, I did post a brief review of Daniel Dennett's classic, Darwin's Dangerous Idea, which I recommend if you have any interest in evolution.
My homepage is at http:gingercampbell.com.
At any rate she arrived in Alabama a few days ago and you can follow her adventures either on my Flickr page or at the Group page (Flicka's K9 World Tour).
She is barely half-way through her scheduled tour. In 2007 she will be traveling across the Atlantic to the UK and Europe.
If you enjoy watching dogs have fun you'll want to check it out.
